Zoltan Ungvari is Professor & Donald W. Reynolds Chair of Aging Research, Dept. of Geriatric Medicine & Dept. of Physiology, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Oklahoma City, USA. He is also the Director of the Institute of Preventive Medicine and Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary; President of the EUPHA section on Healthy Ageing; and one of the leaders of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Healthy Ageing. His research helps bridge cardiovascular physiology and neurobiology, shedding light on how vascular health affects brain ageing, cognitive decline, and risk for dementia—an increasingly important area as populations age. Through his work, he contributes to our understanding of healthy ageing, highlighting modifiable vascular factors (e.g., oxidative stress, endothelial function) that might be targeted for interventions to prevent age-related vascular and neurodegenerative diseases. Prof. Ungvari is considered one of the most productive authors worldwide in vascular-ageing research.
