Assoc. Prof. Piotr Romaniuk is a political scientist, associated for over 22 years with the Department of Health Policy at the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland. He currently serves as Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Health Policy, and Chair of Public Health Policy. He previously served as Vice-Dean of the University’s School of Public Health in Bytom (2017–2020) and as Chairman of the University’s Board of Health Sciences (2020–2024). He is also a member of the Scientific Board of the FOM University of Applied Sciences in Essen, Germany, and a member of the Governing Board of the Silesian Division of the Polish Society of Public Health. Piotr’s research focuses on health systems transition and outcomes, particularly in Central and Eastern Europe and in developing countries, as well as on the development, implementation, and evaluation of health-related public policies. Over his career, he has participated as principal investigator in several international research projects and has authored over 140 publications.
