Prof. Istvan Kiss is the Director of the Institute of Public Health Medicine at the Medical School, University of Pecs, Hungary, and the Leader of the YourLife health program of the Medical School, University of Pecs, Hungary. Prof. Kiss is also the President of the Hungarian Association of Public Health Training and Research Institutes (NKE). He has specialised in Preventive Medicine and Public Health. His research interests focus on the epidemiology and prevention of chronic non-infectious diseases, with special attention to cancer research and prevention, including molecular biomarkers of carcinogenesis, chemoprevention, and the effects of diet on health. Recently, health promotion has received a strong emphasis in his work. He takes part in different health education projects and preventive activities, and considers it important to appropriately communicate scientific results to the general public.
