Kim Lavoie

Professor, University of Quebec, Montreal, Canada

Kim Lavoie is a professor and Canada Research Chair in Behavioural Medicine at the University of Quebec at Montreal. She is co-director of the Montreal Centre for Behavioural Medicine (MCBM) and co-director of the International Behavioural Trials Network (IBTN). She is internationally recognized for her research on the prevention of chronic diseases (particularly heart, lung, and metabolic diseases) and the impact of behavioral interventions, such as motivational communication, on health behaviors and chronic disease outcomes. She has received over $75 million in grants and has published more than 250 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. Dr. Lavoie is also the principal investigator of the international iCARE study, which assesses public attitudes and adherence to infectious disease prevention measures, including vaccination. She is also a member of Canada’s National COVID-19 Expert Advisory Group, where she has been advising the government on pandemic and vaccine policy since 2021.
